Wm. S. Haynes flute  Handmade Commercial model serial number 35270, golden age (1966).  A=440.  Solid Silver all 24K gold gilt except for the solid silver keywork.  Plateau, Y key cup arms. Drawn tone holes.  The entire interior of this fine instrument is 24K gold plated.  24K gold gilt riser and embouchure.  High E facilitator installed.  This flute was the property of one family since purchase and they took extraordinarily good care of it.  Although there are some tiny scratches, most were obscured by the 24K gold plating process.  The flute plays like new with a beautiful fine resonance and an extraordinarily mellow tone.  The high E is robust and remarkably easier to get with the donut installed.  Low C and C# are easy to get, too.  The sound is warm, rich, resonant, and endearing.  You will love this instrument.
The pictured beautiful velvet-lined wooden case with marquetry is new with fine hardware that works perfectly and is sure to last for many years.  The new white over-case by Eastman holds a swab stick, a new Blitz metal care cloth kit, and the new TARNISHNOT flute bag.  There is space inside for an electronic tracker device which you may need because both gold and gold-plated instruments attract thieves as they are indistinguishable.  The new over-case is made of ultralight carbon fiber and is presented by Eastman to be both dustproof and waterproof.  Being carbon fiber, it is very light in weight. There are only 20 others like it in the world.
The original Haynes black kid-leather French style flute case in near perfect condition may be substituted for the new figured maple case with marquetry if you prefer.  I reconditioned the leather of the 55 year old case, but it had been very dry for a very long time and may not last.  Still, it looks great, indeed, it looks new.  It's the nicest looking original Haynes flute case you'll ever see.
