    Vtg 7 5/8" Japan Ceramic Wall Pocket ribbed yellow w long tail bird decoration
    Here is a vintage hand painted Japanese ceramic wall pocket with ribbed sides and raised bird and floral decoration. Impressed marked on the back "Made In Japan". May date from the 1940's - 1950's..
    I have placed a ruler in some pictures for size reference. This wall pocket measures approx. 7 5/8" long x 3 7/8" wide across the top and 2 1/4" deep at the top. It weighs about 11 oz. There is a hole in the back for hanging.
    Colorfully hand painted. Light yellow color with black upper band with raised fan or scallop decoration. The long tail red & blue bird is perched on a brown branch. Two reddish-pink flowers with light green and dark green leaves. The back is not glazed.
    Used condition. The exterior is clean and bright, minor paint wear and imperfection overall. There is allover crazing, crackling lines pattern, inside and out - it's possible some could be hairlines. No chips other than a shallow scrape on the lower unglazed back rim. The interior is clean. No smoke or musty odor.
    I show several sides and close ups. Bright white spots in my pictures are camera glare.
