    This is a
    Vintage TAPE MEASURE EGG with FLY which pulls out a 48" tape.  It was purchased in the 1960s, made of Plastic in good condition.  The function of this measuring tape is not always practical.The action of retracting the tape is sometimes not smooth.  It is the appearance of the egg with fly that is its appeal.  It is a bit of humor placed in a vintage sewing basket.
