    Description

Singer “Automatic Zigzagger” attachments date from the 1950s. They are clever little devices that transform vintage straight-stitch sewing machines like the Singer Featherweight into zippy modern zigzaggers!
This is the standard set of stitch patterns that would have come home from the Singer shop years ago with an Automatic Zigzagger. Included are numbers 161000 (Basic Zigzag), 161001 (Blind Stitch), 161002 (Domino), and 161003 (Arrowhead).
Singer manufactured two different kinds of Automatic Zigzaggers
    :
one for “low-shank” models, and the other for “slant-needle” sewing machines. Look for a six-digit number stamped into the operating arm of your zigzagger.
    “Low-shank” Automatic Zigzaggers were numbered 160985, 161102, or 161157. “Slant-needle” zigzaggers were numbered 160986, 161103, or 161158.
The good news is that these stitch patterns will work perfectly in any of them.
If you have good eyes you may be able to make out “SIMANCO” stamped inside the patterns (photo three). That stands for “SInger MANufacturing COmpany.” These are genuine vintage Singer parts.
The patterns are in good condition, have been cleaned and are ready to go to work in your zigzagger (not included in this listing).
My husband and I have owned and restored over 1000 antique and vintage Singer sewing machines and know quite a bit about them, so please ask if you have any questions! We are happy to help you.
