    Description

    Offered is a handmade Vintage Folk
    Art Wooden Bird Embroidery Box with Thread holders and Bird as the Scissors Holder (scissors are missing) and Pin Cushion. It is made of walnut wood and has a drawer in the front. The note in the box refers to it as an 'Embroidery Box - copy of an old embroidery box probably made for a child's first sewing.  This one is handcrafted in walnut wood.'  Original price was .00.
    It is 6.5" tall and box is 5" square by 2" tall, drawer is not hand dovetailed but nicely crafted.
    This handsome piece was made by Paul Reppert of Oley Valley PA.  It is hand signed on the bottom - Handcrafted by Paul Reppert, Oley Valley, PA.  Reppert was a finish carpenter in Boyertown and a member of the Berks County Guild of Craftsman and was noted for his wooden clocks, boxes and jewelry boxes. This piece may well have been done for the Kutztown Folk Festival in the mid-century years.
    Reppert's card is also included in the drawer.
