Description
Up for sale is a vintage believed American pottery, Ohio style, wall pocket vase, seemingly Jack-in-the-Pulpit or maybe even Lady's Slipper style flora, recently found at auction in Lancaster County PA. It is signed so lightly (wet clay or heavy glaze maybe) that you cannot make out the signature on the bottom. Approx 5x5". Interesting unusual wall pocket, great for any location really. You put a string through the holes to hang it. But truly could be repurposed as an incense cone holder, candle holder etc., lays nicely flat on a table as well as wall. Majolica style glaze. Crazing showing some age, but good condition.Nice unusual find.
While shooting it we wrote down Parkesburg PA - however research shows Parkersburg WV, not sure what we saw - just with the lighting for the photographs we could see more letters going all across the bottom and a 946 on the top. Barely there. Not familiar with this maker.
Best of luck in bidding.
