Vintage Armstrong Emeritus Flute All Solid Sterling Silver 1973 Plays

Description

Armstrong Emeritus sterling silver flute, serial # 6-9398, made in 1973 according to Armstrong serial numbers and produced in Elkhart, Indiana USA. The Emeritus was Armstrong's top of the line flute in the 1970's, the Emeritus Model 60, (open hole) and the Emeritus Model 70, (closed hole). This flute is the Emeritus model 70 and it is made of all solid sterling silver including all the key work with white gold springs. On the flute body it is engraved, Emeritus by Armstrong Elkhart Model 70 with the serial number below that.The pads on the flute still have good life to them. I did the best I could to show this in the pics. There are no signs of any previous damage or repair work. The flute is nice and straight when assembled and plays well. The hard case and the leather carrying case are both in great shape and both are labeled, "Emeritus". A very nice flute for an advanced flutist or woodwind doubler.
