Let me show you.
Archive pictures are used to illustrate and demonstrate the features of this type of Singer attachment.
The slots, below, are guides for sewing together laces, insertions and embroideries, making French seams, making tucks from "pin" to 1/4 inch, embellishing with flat braid and sewing piping.
A copy of the instructions are included.
When the stitch needs to be a little closer or further away, adjusting the LUG left or right makes the difference.
Moving the LUG (top red arrow) determines how close to the edge the needle (bottom red arrow) penetrates the material.
