Today I pulled one of Ralph's flute in A out of a drawer. He used to call them "folk fifes" but in fact this is a flute; A above the standard D of "Irish Flutes". Terrific condition - I merely oiled it up! Ralph's classic yarn-wrap joint. Honduras Rosewood. This would sell for about 450$ if made today. #M2585 which would place the date of having been made to July 2008. The "M" was used as the Roman numeral M = 10,000, so this would be number 12531. This model was really popular for Irish and general folk music sessions where a whistle would be drowned out by the greater volume of surrounding instruments.
