Resin reproduction, in the Wood finish, of Paul Borda's sculpture "Queen of Heaven": truly a synthesis of Stellar, Astrological, Lunar symbolism, and Goddess lore--start with the lions couchant at Her feet, so evocative of of The Magna Mater. [I miss you, Marija Gimbutas! Be Blessed.] On the base between the lions is a truly galactic--as is birth of--Pentacle. The outer circle around her bears Her words: "I am the radiant splendor of the starry night/shining like jewels in the ever-changing sky."
She wears the names of distant stars as Her ornaments.
The artist states that one of his main inspirations was The Descent of Inanna.
The statue measures 15 5/8" tall x 11 1/4" wide and is 2 1/4" at its deepest. It was created as a wood sculpture by the artist Paul Borda of Dryad Design, with the finish on the resin reproduction.
