    Description

    Original signature of legendary musician
    NAT KING COLE
    signed in blue ballpoint ink.
Index card measures 3" x 5". I purchased this card and several others in a lot of signatures sourced from the collection of famous photographer Harry Warnecke (1900-1984). See below for more background on Warnecke. The date in which the autograph was originally obtained is typed on the front of the index card "11/15/56." It is my understanding that Warnecke or someone from his studio would obtain a signature of the celebrity being photographed. What makes this unique is that you can peg this signature to a specific date! What a conversation piece!
    Autograph is
    prominent and presents very nicely.

Do not let this one get away! But if you do decide to let this one get away, I have currently listed two other Nat King Cole signed cards from the same collection, just from different dates. Those are in separate individual listings. The signed index card being offered here is the one described above and pictured dated 11/15/56. The other two signed Nat King Cole cards available in separate listings are dated 12/13/51 and 9/22/53.  If you miss these signed index cards, I have several other vintage Cole signatures currently listed.

    Harry Warnecke (1900 - 1984)
    – Photographer. Well before color reproductions and color snapshots became commonplace, pioneering photographer Harry Warnecke (1900–1984) and his associates at the New York Daily News’ Color Studio created brilliant, richly-hued portraits for the newspaper’s Sunday News magazine. Employing a special one-shot camera of his own design, Warnecke began producing color images for the Daily News in the 1930s by utilizing the technically demanding, tri-color carbro process—an early form of color photography. Over the course of several decades, Warnecke and his team photographed hundreds of people in the news, from popular film stars and athletes to military leaders and government officials.
