Description

The Barber quarter dollar series is very popular with collectors, even though the series has three significant rarities. This was the "workhorse" coin of its day, and the average condition of the coins available on the market confirms this.
Since the reverse design is more shallow than the obverse, the reverse of the coin is often nearly a full grade lower than the obverse.
This coin came from the collection of Alfred and Augusta Szego, who were coin dealers and numismatic authors from New York from 1955 to the mid-1990's. I purchased the U. S. coin collection from Mrs. Szego in 1995.  (It has not been on the market for over 22 years.)
