  • Condition: Vintage egg darner for socks, stockings, hosiery. Old fashioned sewing tool for the sewing basket was the egg darner. This is a black painted single egg darner missing the typical handle. Without the handle present, is easily slides into the sock for mending holes from a by-gone era of time when folks mended their clothing instead of replacing it. Shows some wear on the paint. Cute vintage item for your sewing basket.

    he item offered here is a pre-owned egg sock-stocking darner for mending socks, stockings and hosiery.  The vintage wooden sock darner is painted in black paint and doesn't have the usual handle on it, it appears to be missing or perhaps was removed to just use more easily.
    Some age-related wear on darner is present, no splinters or cracks in the wood.  Darner is wooden and without other damage on it.  It is 2 7/8" in length and 6 3/4" around.  Small hole present on small end from the spot of the missing handle.  In good, "as found" condition.   Se
