Limes are high in vitamin C and antioxidants — both of which may offer health benefits. Eating limes or drinking the juice may improve immunity, reduce heart disease risk factors, prevent kidney stones, aid iron absorption, and promote healthy skin.
Lemon, orange, and lime citrus peels are high in fiber, which is essential for proper digestion. Fiber also helps lower inflammation and improve metabolism. Research shows that D-limonene found in citrus peel may help reduce the risk of cancer.
Origin and History:
Although the precise origin is uncertain, wild limes are believed to have first grown in Indonesia or Southeast Asia, and then were transported to the Mediterranean region and North Africa around 1000 CE.
Arabian traders may have taken limes, as well as lemons, from India to the eastern Mediterranean countries and Africa about 1000 ce.
Limes were introduced to the western Mediterranean countries by returning Crusaders in the 12th and 13th centuries. Christopher Columbus took citrus seeds, probably including limes, to the West Indies on his second voyage in 1493, and the trees soon became widely distributed in the West Indies, Mexico, and Florida. Limes are grown to a limited extent in practically all citrus-growing areas. Limes contain vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and were formerly used in the British navy to prevent scurvy—hence the nickname “limey.”
How to Use:
You can grind these dried peels into a powder for use in recipes, just use one teaspoon of lime peel powder for each tablespoon of lime zest that a recipe calls for. You can also use it to add lime flavor to salad dressings, cookies, pudding, veggies and more. Be sure to use sparingly, since the flavor is concentrated, add to taste.
Citrus peel holds more concentrated fruit flavor than the juice or pulp and does not add to water content in food. This makes dried peel an excellent choice for adding  lime flavor to baked goods, dressings, beer, desserts, and snacks.

We use USPS First Class or USPS Priority (whatever is more cost effective or requested). Combined shipping is available and is automatically calculated by eBay, however if any excess shipping is collected we will refund the difference back to the buyer.
