The flower can be used as a sleep aid, to reduce anxiety and as a stress reliever. Blue Lotus is hypothesised to contain nuciferan (a natural anti-spasmodic) along with aporphine, which will give you feelings of calming euphoria. There are also reports of its use as a treatment for gastrointestinal problems.
The blue lotus flower is an Egyptian water lily containing apomorphine and nuciferine. Apomorphine has been described as a psychoactive alkaloid and is a non-selective dopamine primarily used to treat Parkinson's disease as it stimulates dopamine receptors and improves motor function.

Ancient blue lotus flowers were also found scattered over Tutankhamun’s body, when he was un-casked in 1922. And to top off the list, blue Lotus was exported by the ancient Greeks when they stumbled across it and is actually thought to be mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey itself!
The Blue Lotus, sometimes also called Blue Water Lily, is a psychoactive plant that has been used for thousands of years. The plant is believed to originally come from Egypt and other parts of Northern Africa where it grew along the river Nile.
Physically, it’s a small, round, blue, flowering species that floats atop lakes or other bodies of water. The flower buds rise to the surface over a period of two to three days. When they're ready, they open in the morning around 9:30am and close in the early afternoon around 3:00pm.
How to Use:
The Blue Lotus is typically taken as a tea, with a recommended dose of 5 grams per person, steeped in boiling water and then allowed to cool before drinking it directly. You can also add other herbs and flavors as you see fit. The Egyptians used to soak it in wine for hours at a time, at the same dose of 5 grams per bottle.  Blue Lotus can also be smoked with similar effects.
