    Description

    This is an
    Antique Souvenir DARNING EGG from Oberndorf a Neckar,  Austria.  It is wood, turned to 3" high x 2" wide.  It is Hand Painted in black, a woodland scene representing the area.  I think it belonged to my great grandmother, herself a seamstress.  It is much used as the scratches indicate, from a time when we actually darned our socks to make them last a little longer.  Still usable.  In Good vintage condition.
