A superb and original french vintage flute from LOUIS LOT  (Paris) workshop, serial #3290 made in 1882.

FROM VILLETTE PERIOD. ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER LOUIS LOT OWNERS
The entire instrument is solid silver, hallmarked and with the maker's stamps.
The embouchure is unaltered, original and has never been altered.
The lip plate and riser are made of SOLID 18K GOLD and ENGRAVED.
All pad, spuds and washers are original as well as the case which is in excellent conditionfor its age.
It's never been “re-tuned”, it has been restored and is in excellent palying condition with new pads and corks.
Sounding length is 598 mm, which means the flute plays very well at 440 pitch.
Seamed tube construction, all engraving is still sharp and the keywork shows very little wear.  Y
Gold springs.
In1882 the Lot workshops built 65 metal flutes, both in solid silver and in silver-plated nickel alloy.  That means this particular instrument is quite rare, one of maybe 45 or 50 produced that year.
Very good example with a wonderful singing voice that’s unique to Lot flutes of this vintage.
