Silica gel desiccants work best between 70-90 degrees Fahrenheit in 60% and above humidity. Trivia - cobalt chloride is used as the water saturation indicator. The moment the indicator turns pink, th esilica gel has absorbed just under 10% of its weight in water... when this figure reaches 40%, the desiccant is fully saturated and is no longer capable of absorbing any more water. You can, roughly, estimate saturation point:multiply by 3 to 4 the length of time it takes to, initially, turn pink. For example, 1 hour to turn pink, 3 to 4 hours till full saturation.
